Large-volume OCTG and line pipe packages demand tight coordination between product streams, inspection schedules, and port logistics. This 2,000-tonne consolidated shipment covered three product types supplied simultaneously:
API 5CT K55 casing — 13⅜″ 68 ppf BTC R3 serves as intermediate or surface casing string in conventional onshore wells. K55 offers adequate yield strength for shallow-to-medium depths with predictable BTC thread makeup.
API 5L X56 LSAW — OD 20″ (186 ppf) and OD 24″ (186 ppf) large-diameter LSAW pipe was supplied for conductor casings and gathering-line backbone. LSAW is the standard manufacturing route for diameters above 16″ where seamless capacity does not exist; the X56 grade provides sufficient wall strength for above-ground and buried service without the alloy cost of X65.
API 5L GR.B seamless — 4″ SCH 80 and 6″ SCH 80 with 3LPE coating handled the gathering laterals. 3LPE coating at 3 mm thickness provides long-term external corrosion protection suitable for direct burial in tropical African soils with variable chloride levels.
