API 5CT L80-13Cr is the workhorse chromium-alloy OCTG grade for wells with elevated CO₂ partial pressure. Unlike inhibited carbon steel, 13Cr tubing forms a passive chromium-oxide layer that arrests CO₂ corrosion without ongoing chemical injection — reducing lifetime operating cost in fields where sweet-gas corrosion is the primary integrity threat.
This shipment of 3,800 pieces was manufactured to API Specification 5CT, 11th Edition, PSL2, with controlled chemistry and full mechanical testing. The plain-end configuration allowed the operator to machine threads in-country using locally preferred coupling dimensions. Black coating provides transit protection.
