Offshore and marine oil & gas transmission in corrosive coastal environments.
API 5L X65Q is the standard high-strength grade for demanding subsea and marine pipeline applications where X60 yield strength is insufficient. The Q (quench-and-temper) delivery condition achieves minimum yield of 450 MPa (65.3 ksi) with the tighter PSL2 chemistry and toughness requirements needed for sour or offshore service.
3LPE (three-layer polyethylene) coating — applied at 3 mm thickness with a non-slip granular topcoat — provides cathodic disbondment resistance and mechanical protection for marine installation. The non-slip granular surface is specified for subsea handling safety and pipe-in-pipe lateral friction requirements.
This supply was manufactured as seamless pipe to API Specification 5L, 46th Edition, PSL2, with full DWTT, CVN, and hardness testing per the PSL2 schedule. ZC Steel Pipe supplies coated X65 and X70 line pipe up to 24″ OD for pipeline projects across Africa, including sour-service and subsea applications where EN 10204 3.2 witness inspection is required.
