Category
Stainless Steel Pipe
ZC supplies seamless stainless steel pipe from OD 10.29 mm (1/8″ NB) to 914 mm (36″ NB) across four metallurgical families: austenitic, super austenitic, duplex, and ferritic. Standards covered include ASME SA213, SA312, SA789, SA790, ASTM A269, EN 1016-5, and GB/T 21833.
Applications
- → Oil and gas — conveying crude oil, gas, and corrosive fluids in production and processing facilities
- → Chemical and petrochemical — transport of corrosive chemicals in process piping
- → Food and beverage — hygienic fluid conveyance requiring corrosion resistance
- → Aerospace — aircraft hydraulic systems, fuel lines, and structural components
- → Heat exchanger service — boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes per ASME SA213
Surface Finish Options
| Finish | Description | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| No. 1 | Hot rolled, annealed, and descaled. Rough, non-uniform matte surface. | High-temperature industrial piping where appearance is not a requirement |
| 1D | Hot or cold rolled, annealed, and pickled. Dull, non-reflective surface. | General industrial service — heat exchangers, chemical process piping |
| 2B | Cold rolled, annealed, pickled, and skin-passed. Smooth, moderately reflective. | Most common general-purpose finish — food, chemical, and process piping |
| BA / 2R | Cold rolled and bright annealed in a protective atmosphere. Mirror-bright surface. | Food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and decorative applications |
| Polished | Mechanically polished to specified grit (120 / 180 / 240 grit) or Ra surface roughness value. | Sanitary, hygienic, and high-purity service |
Inspection & Testing
- → Hydrostatic test — every pipe tested to proof pressure per ASME SA312 / ASTM A312 and ASTM A999
- → Non-destructive examination — eddy current or ultrasonic body scan per ASTM A530 / ASME SA530; end-area UT on request
- → Dimensional inspection — OD, wall thickness, length, and straightness per ASME B36.19M schedule tolerances
- → Tensile test — yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation per applicable grade standard
- → Intergranular corrosion test (IGC) — ASTM A262 Practice E on request — for sensitization-prone and stabilized austenitic grades (321, 321H, 347, 347H)
- → Positive material identification (PMI) — XRF alloy verification on request; standard for duplex and super austenitic grades
- → MTC documentation — EN 10204 3.1 standard; 3.2 third-party witness inspection on request (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV)
